TRURO - Preparations for the Town of Truro's

Art Acquisition Show are underway and visual artists are asked to begin submitting their work.

The show, which is in partnership with the Truro Art Society, takes place from June 5 to 29 at the Nova Scotia Community College's McCarthy Hall Gallery. One piece will be selected for permanent addition to the Town of Truro's art collection and placed in the town hall on Prince Street.

Applications for the show from artists of all styles are now being accepted. Information brochures are available at Douglas Street Recreation Centre, or can be downloaded online at www.truro.ca/art-aquisition.html. The deadline for applications is May 18.

Artists are permitted to enter a maximum of three pieces each. All pieces must be prepared to gallery standards and be ready for display.

The town launched its Art Acquisition Program in 2006 in an effort to create and maintain a collection of visual art reflecting the unique historic and artistic development of Truro.
