TRURO - A special presentation will wrap up this weekend's Embrace Truro festivities.

Halifax-based DRUM! will perform at Cobequid Educational Centre at 7 p.m. DRUM! is a musical production that tells the story of the arrival and settlement, struggles and ultimate unity of four of Canada's principal founding cultures as seen through the lens of the First Nations experience.

The production features musicians, dancers, drummers and singers from Canada's Aboriginal, Black, Celtic and Acadian communities.

Raymond Tynes, a co-ordinator of Embrace Truro, said the show is a unique experience that will help the audience appreciate diversity.

"It's a show like no other," said Tynes. "It will get people to understand about homelessness, diversity and youth."

Since 1999, DRUM! has performed throughout Canada and the United States. The group has appeared on Canada's Parliament Hall, for the Vancouver 2010 Olympics, for Queen Elizabeth and in 17 of the United States.
